Crumple Flex Tester is widely applicable to determine the degradation of water resistance of coated fabrics due to crumpling and Flexing in use. As we can see, it is necessary to test fabrics in terms of their ability to withstand repeated flexing without creating crackings.
Product introduction:
Crumple Flex Tester, by using this instrument, the users can test the degradation of water resistance of coated textiles due to flexing and crumpling in daily application use, which contributes to improving the water resistance of the fabric performance for the manufacturers.
The equipment tests a tube of fabric by twisting it through 90° stretching and alternately compressing the tube at the same time. After the flexure test, immediately, it can test the water penetration resistance of the fabric according to ISO 1420. A pre-set electronic counter automatically stops the crumple flex tester when the test reaches a preset cycle. In all, Crumple Flex Tester measures the waterproof resistance of fabrics by simulating the repeated flexing of a garment during use.

How it works:
Sew long strips of coated fabric samples into a cylindrical shape. The coated fabric cylinder is placed and held in place between two discs, one reciprocating about 90° on its axis to twist the specimen and the other reciprocating along its axis to compress sample. After a certain number of twists and compressions or until the sample is obviously damaged, the flexural failure resistance of the sample is evaluated.
Structure:
A rectangular test piece of coated fabric is sewn into a cylindrical shape. The cylinder of coated fabric is mounted between two discs and secured into position. One of the discs oscillates and its axis through approximately 90°. This includes twisting in the coated-fabric test piece cylinder. At the same time, the other disc reciprocates along its axis, thus causing the cylindrical test piece to compress along its length. This twisting and simultaneous compressing of the cylindrical test piece is continued for either a pre-set number of cycles or until damage to the test piece is apparent.
