Application of Washing Color Fastness Tester
The Washing Color Fastness Tester is essential for testing the color fastness of textiles when exposed to washing.
Washing fastness is a key indicator of fabric durability and is crucial for ensuring the longevity and safety of textiles. This tester is indispensable for assessing the color stability of fabrics after repeated washing, which directly impacts both consumer satisfaction and the fabric's wearability.
The tester is compatible with various color fastness standards, including AATCC, ISO, and other industry-recognized methods. Operators can easily select the appropriate test method, and the corresponding parameters are displayed on the screen for convenience and accuracy.
Test Principle of Color Fastness to Washing
In the test, textile specimens are sewn together with one or two pieces of standard lining fabric. These specimens are placed in a stainless steel cup along with steel balls, soap, or soap solution, and an anhydrous sodium carbonate mixture. The cup is then mechanically rotated at specified time and temperature conditions, simulating the washing process.
After the color fastness test is complete, the samples are washed and dried. The original sample serves as a reference, and the results are evaluated based on the discoloration of the specimen and the staining of the lining fabric. These changes are assessed using gray scale cards or specialized instruments. This method allows for an accurate measurement of color change and staining, and can also be used for perspiration tests on textiles to evaluate their resistance to sweat.
